Biography

Terry Sullivan is the State Director for The Nature Conservancy in New Mexico. He has degrees in geology, environmental science and law.

As the state director, Terry is responsible for building and supporting an extraordinary staff, cultivating relationships with supporters and setting the course of the chapter’s conservation agenda. New Mexico is focused on addressing climate change impacts, building healthy forests, providing water security and creating a healthy urban environment in Albuquerque where nature can thrive.

Terry has held several positions with TNC in New Mexico since joining the organization in 1992. They include Director of Land Protection, Director of Conservation Programs, and Assistant State Director. He became state director in 2005.

Before joining TNC, Terry served as Assistant Regional Counsel for the United States Environmental Protection Agency (Region 2 in New York City) from 1987 to 1992, overseeing enforcement actions for violations of hazardous waste and Superfund laws.
